Milenia HybriDetect Cassette – Bring your Lateral Flow Assay Ideas to a Final Product

Lateral flow tests have been one of the game changers during Covid-19 pandemics. Many companies have seen the advantages of this test format. The interest in designing a very own rapid test is still unbroken in the scientific community since then. We offer this option to our customers with our HybriDetect product line. Until now numerous publications show the development of lateral flow assays with our HybriDetect Kits in many sectors such as public health, pathogen detection, veterinary or agriculture.

HybriDetect Cassette – Bring your Assay Ideas to a Final Product

Many customers want to bring their developed assay to a final product. Therefore, we are happy to announce that the HybriDetect family is expanded by a new member:

HybriDetect Cassette (MGHC 1)

The MGHC 1 is the cassette version of the HybriDetect (MGHD1) and contains
20 single vacuum sealed Test Units (MGSHC) and Milenia Biotec Chase Buffer (MGCB).

Platform to Develop your own Rapid Test

You are able to design an assay for a wide range of analytes such as antibodies, gene amplification products, proteins or even smaller targets. This high variety of possible analytes gave our HybriDetect products the phrasing Universal Lateral Flow Development Platform. Especially the detection of DNA/RNA in combination with a molecular method (PCR, RPA, LAMP, CRISPR/Cas, …) was in focus within the last view years for many of our customers.


High Scientific Relevance

Scientists all over the world trusted in our development platform. Today Milenia HybriDetect is frequently cited in more than 400 peer reviewed publications, including high impact journals such as Nature or Science.


Simple Handling

The HybriDetect cassette allows an easy sample and buffer application such as a customer-friendly and intuitive handling and readout. This offers you and your possible customers the possibility to be used directly at point-of-care and by non-trained persons.


Single Test Unit Packaging

Every test unit is sealed separately in an aluminum pouch and with a descendant bag. This allows you maximum flexibility if you want to design and sell your very own product as single test.


High Specificity and Sensitivity

After 5 minutes of incubation of the sample loaded test strip with the Milenia GenLine Chase Buffer (MGCB) there is clear signal for a sample concentration of 1 fmol dual labelled ssDNA on the test line as you can see below. Additionally, concentrations of 0,5 fmol/LFA show very faint signals that’s why the limit of detection (LOD) of MGHC 1 was determined as 1 fmol/test unit.

Qualitative and (Semi-)Quantitative Evaluation

The intensity of the test line correlates positively with the amount of dual-labelled analyte in a certain range. This allows for a (semi-)quantitative evaluation. The easiest way for a semi-quantitative evaluation is via evaluation cards which could look as follows.

Compatibility with Lateral Flow Reader

Besides the quantification by evaluation cards, the measurement of the signal intensity can be done by special lateral flow readout systems.
With the soon to be available myilab reader from Milenia Biotec the evaluation of the HybriDetect cassettes becomes more objective, better reproducible, and easier to document.
